Challenge

After American Electric Power acquired BlueStar Energy, the rebranded AEP Energy needed a new web platform — one that reflected the post-acquisition identity, met current responsive expectations, and supported a refreshed customer enrollment workflow on the competitive retail electricity side of the AEP family.

Approach/Solution

cre8 had been working with BlueStar Energy before the AEP acquisition, delivering a couple of redesigns through that earlier era. Following the acquisition, we built AEP Energy a new responsive site on the ExpressionEngine CMS and redesigned the customer enrollment workflow to fit the post-acquisition brand and customer-experience requirements. AEP Energy has since rebuilt the site on WordPress with a different vendor.

“Eric and the whole team at cre8 were an absolute pleasure to work with as we migrated and redesigned our website. Our site satisfied a variety of needs…functional, informational, persuasive, and regulatory (to name a few).

The cre8 team evaluated our diverse set of requirements and established both the design and the back end administrative interfaces to accomplish our objectives.

The end result was a product and experience the entire company was proud of. I referred Eric to work with other clients and I would absolutely do it again.”
