Challenge

The American Institute of Architects Chicago (AIA Chicago) is the largest AIA chapter in Illinois and the second-largest in the United States. They needed a robust CMS to:

• Handle growing membership data and annual dues
• Run a paid job board
• Provide a fast, faceted directory for “Find an Architect”
  

Approach/Solution

Their website was built on the ExpressionEngine CMS platform, utilizing Carthrob for membership dues, job board postings, and documents.

Along with stabilizing the website and addressing critical issues, we consolidated their hosting to simplify management and reduce costs.

In early 2023, AIA Chicago’s main site was rebuilt on WordPress by another vendor. The “Find an Architect” directory was later migrated to WordPress as well, ending cre8’s engagement.
